Arriving back from my amazing travels through North and Southern Italy,  I am all things Italian and this year with gusto, new recipes and a renewed passion for all things delicious I return to Black Pearl Cooking school and Learn Cook Dine cooking school with my new series of classes “Pure Pleasure of the Italian Kitchen”  filled with new recipes and inspiring menus guaranteed  to tempt even the basic of cooks into the kitchen and the fussiest of eaters to the table.  Along with my inspirational Italian classes I returns with more of your favourites menus including gluten and wheat free, vegetarian, legumes and vegetables and her much loved middle eastern, Moroccan, Spanish and spice inspired classes. . Journeying through Italy I invite you to join me on a culinary explosion of traditional recipes, wonderfully simple ideas and  my unique styling to showcase the best of the  regions of Northern  and Southern Italy. My love of simple Italian flavours, passion for fresh whole foods and my healthy approach will leave you wanting more.

Pure Food School Based Cooking Program

My aim is to provide a varied and comprehensive selection of tailored school based cooking classes with an opportunity for students to gain a greater appreciation for healthy whole foods keeping them in touch with modern cooking techniques in a hands-on fun and relaxed environment.

The classes are aimed to assist the Home Economic programs and the progression of the students learning. Classes vary from basic knife skills, to precision cutting styles, basic cooking techniques through to specific cuisine styles all the while focusing on healthy whole foods and fun easy recipes. Classes are also tailored to the ages of students and levels of schooling.

With over 10 years experience facilitating cooking classes at “Mondo Organics Restaurant” in Brisbane’s West End, “Black Pearl Epicure” in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley and “Learn Cook Dine” cooking school in Loganholme. I am extremely passionate about my newest venture, The Pure Food School Based Cooking Program.
The program is a unique concept enabling students to experience hands on cooking classes developing their skills for cooking, recognising ingredients, developing flavours, food presentation and encompassing basic professional cooking and preparation techniques while focusing on following their current school based curriculum.

Classes are held on school premises and during school hours. All ingredients, recipes and related kitchen notes are included in the program. The program includes a selection of classes ranging from hands-on; where each student participates in the chopping, preparation, cooking and serving of the foods or a demonstration based class where some of the students participate in the preparation and cooking but most of the students are watching. Depending on the students ages chopping may not be applicable and therefore classes will be tailored to suit.

Past High School classes have been held at John Paul College, Mt Alvernia College, Canterbury College and A.B. Paterson College, and primary classes held at Mary Immaculate Primary School. The program is fast becoming a welcomed addition to the Home Economics department. Classes are also available to the teachers as a team building event, general interest and or developing and honing new cooking skills. Teachers classes are held after school and on school premises.

I pride myself on my integrity, professionalism, effectiveness and success in delivering the same high quality product in any given circumstance or situation. My experience and food flair is showcased with my particular forte in developing lessons and customizing recipes for any specific culinary area and all dietary requirements including specific food allergies, vegan and vegetarian cooking.

To have the opportunity to pass on the importance of learning basic cooking skills and the techniques to prepare simple healthy meals to our next generation is a gift. Through teaching I feel I am able to share my innate enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for what I have come to learn is an invaluable lesson which will assist any young person in life.

I actually made the soufflé and fritters for my sons vegetarian friends last night who were overwhelming with their ‘mmmmmmmms’ and ‘ooooooh’ and ‘aaaaaaarghs’ while they were devouring their meals – a cooks satisfaction indeed. Anyhow, thanks again for a great class, it was a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Thank you for the fantastic cooking class today! My daughters, my niece and I had a wonderful time, and learned so much. I even made my husband buy me a pasta maker today, and then I made the meatballs and pasta for dinner. It took me a while, but it turned out great. Tomorrow night – Ravioli! Thank you again.
